Meet the Manager
Bill is the Store Manager at our Berkeley location and he’s been a Performance employee since 2008. Bill is originally from New Jersey and he’s been riding bikes ever since he was a kid. He started riding BMX, moved on to mountain biking and now rides the road. One day, he hopes to ride in Spain.

Bill’s Riding Tip:When riding solo, carry an ID, and always tell someone where you are going, and when you expect to be back.

The Great Ride Series - Beginner
You’re invited to join our beginner level Saturday morning group ride, starting and ending at Performance Bicycle. The ride is for beginners, those getting back in the saddle, or riders who want to add some variety to their cycling. The ride will last approximately one hour, and will go at an average pace of between 12 and 15 miles per hour. We’ll explore some of the local bike paths and some residential routes, as well. The ride will take place every Saturday morning at 9:00am and is a “No Rider Left Behind” ride. Come out and join us for this fun, non-competitive ride. We can’t wait to see you there.

For more details and to sign up for the ride please visit our page on MeetUp, Great Ride Series Berkeley.

Spin Doctor Mechanic
Spin Doctor Will is a Bay Area native who has worked on bikes for more than 30 years. A Performance employee since 2012, he lovingly maintains a stable of 13 bikes. When he’s not wrenching, he’s more often than not playing bass guitar in his father’s blues band in festivals around the area. He also enjoys spending time with his 10-year-old gopher snake, Shlomit.

Will’s Maintenance Tip: Listen to your chain. It’s asking for lube.
