Meet the Manager
Store Manager Drake has surrounded himself with what he loves most, working on bicycles. He became a mechanic when he moved to Seattle in 2007 and has been with Performance for 7 years. Drake raced BMX and motocross when he was younger. These days freeride/downhill mountain biking is his favorite form of riding. Outside of cycling, you’ll find Drake snowboarding, hiking and backpacking, and indulging his other passions basketball and music.

Drake’s Cycling Tip: Pay attention to your ride route. If you take a wrong turn, you could end up in a lake like I did coming down Snoqualmie Mountain.

The Great Ride Series - Beginner
You’re invited to join our beginner level Saturday morning group ride, starting and ending at Performance Bicycle. The ride is for beginners, those getting back in the saddle, or riders who want to add some variety to their cycling. The ride will last approximately one hour, and will go at an average pace of between 12 and 15 miles per hour. We’ll explore some of the local bike paths and some residential routes, as well. The ride will take place every Saturday morning at 9:00am and is a “No Rider Left Behind” ride. Come out and join us for this fun, non-competitive ride. We can’t wait to see you there.

For more details and to sign up for the ride please visit our page on MeetUp, Great Ride Series Lombard.

Spin Doctor Mechanic
Spin Doctor Ehren hails from Elmhurst, IL and has been a bicycle mechanic for 5 years, 2-1/2 of which have been spent working for Performance Bicycle. Ehren says he’s been riding ever since he can remember, so fixing his own bikes was something he had to do. One of his most challenging jobs came during the Apple Cider Century when he rebuilt a hub for a rider. His favorite type of riding is anything long, as in 100 miles plus. And when he’s not at Performance, Ehren loves metal smithing, his trusty computer and, of course, riding. Ehren is Spin Doctor and Shimano Tech Certified.

Ehren's Ride Tip: If your bike makes a funny noise, find out what it is and fix it. Don’t ignore it. And I always say: a clean well-lubricated chain makes for a happy bicycle.
