What’s Happening?

The Great Ride Series - Beginner
You’re invited to join our beginner level Saturday morning group ride, starting and ending at Performance Bicycle. The ride is for beginners, those getting back in the saddle, or riders who want to add some variety to their cycling. The ride will last approximately one hour, and will go at an average pace of between 12 and 15 miles per hour. We’ll explore some of the local bike paths and some residential routes, as well. The ride will take place every Saturday morning at 7:00am and is a “No Rider Left Behind” ride. Come out and join us for this fun, non-competitive ride. We can’t wait to see you there.

For more details and to sign up for the ride please visit our page on MeetUp, Great Ride Series Mesa.

Routes / Trails

Sonoran Desert Trail - Hawes Trail
Description: The Hawes Loop Trail system in North Mesa is a collection of wonderfully well trod singletrack trails that cris-cross and loop through pristine desert landscape. It is a local favorite that has a little bit of everything for every rider.
Difficulty: All levels
Location: Access to Hawes loop is simple as there is a dirt parking area off of Power road, just as you leave the city behind you, look for it on the left hand side after crossing the canal.

McDowell Mountain
Description: This trail is great. It is not as rocky as other Phoenix area trails. Twisty singletrack on rolling contour. The surface consists of small pebbles which make a nice ripping sound as you careen through the turns. These are one way loops, there are three total. The sport, technical, and long loop.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Location: Fountain Hills
