What's Happening at Our Store?





You’re invited to join our Saturday morning, beginners group ride starting from and ending at our Rockville, Performance Bicycle store. The ride is for beginners and those getting back on the saddle. The average pace will be between 10 and 14 miles per hour and the ride will last approximately one hour. We’ll explore some of the local bike paths available to you and experience some residential riding as well. The ride leaves the store every Saturday morning, 9:00 am and is a “No Rider Left Behind” ride. Come out and join our ride leaders, for some fun outdoors..

Local Trails

C & O Canal Towpath - Road
Description: Great natural scenery and relaxing environment
Difficulty: All Levels
Location: Along the Potomac River from Cumberland, MD to Georgetown

Cabin John Park - MTB
Description: Close to home, well groomed, not very technical
Difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate
Location: Accessible from Tuckerman or Democracy

Haines Point "Nooner" - Road
Description: 30-60 minute hammer-fest on a flat course, complete with breakaways, chase downs, and sprints. It’s a great high-intensity workout during a lunch break
Difficulty: Intermediate to Advanced
Location: Haines Point, behind the Jefferson Memorial

MacArther Blvd - Road
Description: Flat road with a bike path. Multiple attractions (Glen Echo, Great Falls, etc.), usually low traffic; connects to the Capital Crescent Trail
Difficulty: Beginner
Location: Runs from the Southern most end of Falls Road into Washington, DC

River Road to Seneca/28 or Poolesville - Road
Description: Good road ride, some hill climbing
Difficulty: All Levels
Location: River Road and Falls Road; ride River Road north bound to Seneca

Schaeffer Farm - MTB
Description: Over 12 miles of single track trails close to home, definitely the best mountain bike area in Montgomery County
Difficulty: All Levels
Location: Schaeffer Farm Rd. ¼ mile past S. Germantown Rec. Center

Skyline Drive from Front Royal - Road
Description: Amazing scenery. Long, easy climbs with long, fast descents. Ideal place for hill training
Difficulty: Intermediate
Location: Off Route 66 in Front Royal. Start at the gate into Shenandoah and start climbing
