2013 Charge Tap Street Road Bike
A nimble and fast riding bike with a more upright riding position for better comfort and visibility in traffic, the 2013 Charge Tap features everything you need to commute by bike or take on the neighborhood with confidence and ease. One look and you can see that Charge is all about style. On closer inspection, the Charge Tap reveals itself as an incredibly competent commuter bike that everyone can enjoy. At the heart of the Tap is a seamless Tange Prestige double butted chromoly frame and Charge Whisk Tange Infinity fork. Tange steel is custom drawn and feels sprightly, comfortable and forgiving thanks to its road vibration dampening properties. Both Infinity and Prestige are formed using Tange's 90 years of experience in manufacturing steel tubes.
The Charge Tap blends fast-riding flat bar fashion with internally geared efficiency. The Shimano NEXUS 8-speed internal hub looks much cleaner than a regular derailleur and cassette and requires less maintenance. NEXUS Internal Hubs were born out of necessity in urban environments where bicycle transportation is a way of life. All the gear mechanisms, seals and robust construction have been meticulously engineered to deliver accurate and smooth shifting. A set of full-length and color matched fenders add to the urban aesthetic while keep unwanted road splash off of your gear and clothing.
The Tap has great attention to detail. A low-rise Shield handlebar positions you comfortably and increases your field of vision. Its 600mm width is perfect for handling with confidence without being so wide that it becomes a burden to navigating through tight circumstances. Widely used Alex DC19 rims are double walled to increase the overall longevity of your wheel set and a pair of 32c Charge Coaster tires are a great compromise between low rolling resistance and water-shedding grip.
