When all three virtues occur in just one crankset, you take notice. This is true for the FSA K-Force Light 386EVO Standard Crankset. The K-Force Light cranks feature hollow monocoque composite crank arms, an oversized, beefy extruded AL7050 spindle, and weigh in at a featherweight 626 grams. However, what makes these cranks exceptional is the all-new 386EVO spindle.
The BB386EVO system allows the flexibility to fit many more frames. The key to 386EVO is the 30mm diameter alloy spindle, formed in a high-pressure, low-speed extrusion process. The 30mm spindle improves torsional stiffness, while reducing the spindle, and increasing the contact area between the crank arm and the spindle. Mating this to the wider BB shell, and press fit cups, allows this crankset to fit not only the 386EVO BB shell, but also to be adaptable to threaded frames, and to BB30 frames. The wider BB shell allows chain stays to be optimized, with either a greater thickness, or a wider spacing, to allow greater stiffness, plus better tire clearance, and a narrower BB shell.
Put simply, the BB386EVO design modifies the BB30 design to a wider width, and incorporates a press fit bearing cup, rather than the direct fit bearing of the BB30 system. This slight modification allows the adaptability of the design to other BB shells, and gives any frame builder more landscape to craft their frames.
The K-Force Light crank has hollow carbon arms with a beautiful UD weave. It features AL7075 100% CNC chainrings and standard 53/39 rings with a 130mm BCD, and choose either 172.5mm or 175mm arm lengths.
