Marin Attack Trail Pro 27.5" Mountain Bike -- 2017
Let's start this journey by taking a look at the frame. To serve up the ultimate in performance, The Attack Trail is built around an enhanced carbon fiber monocoque frame with QUAD 3 suspension platform and 150mm of travel. Suspension duties are handled by RockShox Monarch Plus debonair shock with a 200x57mm stroke and rebound adjust. Up front, a RockShox Pike RCT3 fork gives you 160mm of travel, and compression and rebound adjustment.
Shifting duties fall to SRAM's all new and revolutionary Eagle X01 1x12 groupset. Featuring a 12-speed rear derailleur, utterly massive 10-50 cassette, and a SRAM Eagle carbon fiber crankset set with 34T chainring, SRAM Eagle represents the pinnacle of MTB shifting technology. Not only does going 1x simplify shifting and save weight, but it also improves performance by minimizing the chances of dropped chains. And because Eagle goes to 12 speed now, you have all the range, plus the right gearing cadence to always have the right cog for the right occasion. Stopping is handled by a set of top of the line SRAM Guide RS hydraulic disc brakes with beefy 200mm/180mm rotors to slow your roll on a dime. A set of Stan's NoTubes Flow MRK3 Pro wheels roll quick and fast with all the latest features you'd expect from a high end set of wheels like a 100x15mm thru axle front and 142x12mm thru axle rear. The front wheel is wrapped up in a WTB Vigilante 2.3" tire, while the rear gets a WTB Breakout 2.3", making this bike trail-ready right out of the box.
Oh, and Marin finally found a use for that front derailleur mount. They put a bottle opener there, making it easy to open a refreshing post-ride recovery beverage.
