Shimano XTR FC-M980 3X10 Crankset
An integral part of Shimano's new XTR Trail line of mountain bike components, the XTR 3X10 CloseStep triple crankset is the ultimate weapon for the go anywhere, do anything trail warrior who demands smooth, precise and efficient shifting on even the rockiest, muddiest or steepest trails. Because Shimano's 10-speed system allows you to spend more time in middle ring gears, they've made the new XTR triple crankset's 32-tooth middle chainring out of titanium and carbon for greater durability. The 24-tooth smallest ring makes shifting smoother and faster, and minimizes the need for recovery shifts to maintain cadence. At the other extreme, the 42-tooth chainring is more rider-friendly than a 44, so you'll be able to use it more often. Remaining true to Shimano's decades-long legacy of MTB drivetrain mastery, the XTR Dyna-Sys triple crankset features hollow-forged Duraluminum, integrated spider and rugged steel axle to provide a winning balance of strength, rigidity, weight and performance.- CloseStep trail-tuned gearing features 10-speed specific, 42/32/24T chainring combination for smaller jumps between gears and smoother, more precise shifts
- Titanium/carbon 32-tooth middle ring adds rigidity for better shifting, longer service life, and smooth power delivery
