If you are seeking a more relaxed fit and confident handling, then look no further than the 2012 Fuji Gran Fondo 4.0 road bike. A Fuji C4 carbon frame, FC-440 full carbon fork, Shimano drivetrain and Oval Concepts components crescendo into the most comfortable road experience that you are unlikely to forget.

The Gran Fondo design is just plain smart. Using a longer head tube than a traditional race bike, about 10mm on a 55cm frame, the Gran Fondo creates a slightly more upright rider position in order to stave off upper body fatigue on longer rides. The Fuji C4 high-modulus carbon frame is a proprietary blend of premium fibers for the lightest, strongest and best handling bike. Fuji uses a Shimano Press-Fit bottom bracket, the lowest area on the frame, where nearly all of the frames tubes meet, which gives them a larger area to attach the frames tubes. The result is a ride that can easily disperse more road vibration or impact in order to keep you comfortable and in control. The FC-440 fork furthers the comfort design with a full carbon and tapered steerer. The fork steerer binds the fork to the frame with the help of the headset and stem. Again, this has an immediate impact on improved handling and increased overall ride comfort.

The Gran Fondo 4.0 utilizes a Shimano Tiagra 10-speed drivetrain and an FSA Omega Compact Crankset. While Shimano is well known for its lightweight performance components, less attention is given to the efficiency and durability of these parts. Shimano Tiagra features a reach adjustable ergonomic shifter design and integrated Optical Gear Display. The Tiagra rear derailleur's Wide Link design supplies precise and reliable shifting through the full range of 12/28 cassette. The compact crank and 12/28 cassette give you an enormous amount of gears from which to select and keep you spinning comfortably for miles on end, no matter the grade.

The balance of the Gran Fondo 4.0 is finished with great brands like Oval Concepts. Oval has been supplying high performance quality parts for years. The 300 series handlebar, stem, seatpost and saddle provide miles of solid and worry-free performance.
