Reynolds Assault CX Clincher Disc Wheelset - Closeout

The Reynolds Assault CX Clinchers are the ideal choice for sandy or muddy conditions when wheel tracking and controlling the front end are imperative. The 46mm Assaults have an improved upon carbon layup composition, developed at the Reynolds Composite Studio, for maximum strength and stiffness while under load. The studio was created as a unique environment in order to control their carbon wheel technology from concept inception to becoming a product ready for market.

The RCS team is headed by the legendary composites engineer Paul Lew. As Director of Technology and Innovation, Paul is responsible for many of the designs, molds, tooling, production and techniques that are at the heart of the Reynolds carbon wheel product line. Considered to be among the first to apply unidirectional carbon technology to bicycle rims, many of Paul's innovations are now considered state-of-the-art in wheel design.

If you prefer to run rim brakes, a new and proprietary CTg braking system, which uses a special carbon fiber laminate and brake track, measurably improves stopping performance. It keeps the rim up to 100 degrees cooler than other carbon rims which prevents the wheel from suffering brake fade from heat build up on long, or prolonged descents. The CX's include Reynolds Cryo Blue pads which are specifically designed to work with the CTg rims for optimal brake performance.
