2013 Scattante DX350 Cyclocross Bike
In the cycling era of specialization, it's hard to find a bike that will just do a little bit of everything. The 2013 Scattante DX350 was designed not only to accomplish this goal for you, but to deliver the performance and comfort you deserve no matter the task. The DX350 is truly a versatile cyclocross bike and available exclusively at Performance. The DX350 is designed around a lightweight aluminum frame. Aluminum keeps the weight down, making the bike easy to handle, even in tight city or trail conditions, and a carbon legged fork dampens vibration to keep you comfortable and in control of the front end. The compact cyclocross geometry alleviates back and shoulder pressure while placing in you in a more upright position for increased field of vision.
Commute with the DX350: This bike has a great foundation for a commuter bike. Wider 35C tires and sloping geometry for comfort, proper spacing and eyelets for full fenders, as well as cross top brake levers so you can maintain a confident, upright position. The Shimano Sora 18- speed drivetrain offers plenty of gears to spin up and down hills, even with your added commuter gear. Other comfort features include Velo Eva bar tape for extra support and vibration dampening, a Velo saddle with a long, broad nose and an overall shape that accommodates moving forward or backward with ease.
Go on the road: Cyclocross bikes in general are appealing because they are so easily adaptable. The same is true for the DX350. While you can ride on the road without issue, try swapping out the Kenda Small Block Eight tires for something with less rolling resistance, like some Continental Ultra Gatorskins. The result will be a smooth ride, especially when you match them with the 32-hole alloy wheels with sealed disc hubs.
Discover Cyclocross: Cyclocross is a tremendous amount of fun and a real challenge. If you've never tried cross, the DX350 can introduce you to a new love affair. Tektro Novela Disc brakes were chosen to perform flawlessly even in the worst of weather conditions. The Kenda Small Block Eight tires offer lower rolling resistance without losing crucial traction in sloppy corners. Run a lower tire pressure for added grip. The 46/36 FSA Vero crankset is tried-and-true cross gearing that will keep you pedaling comfortably the entire race.
The Scattante DX350 with disc brakes, Shimano components and comfort features is a bike that has been designed with everything in mind. As a result, everything is what you get.
