Reynolds Assault/Strike OE Carbon Clincher Road Wheelset

You can learn a lot by paying attention to the pros. That's what Reynolds did and that's why non-pros like us can now purchase a Reynolds high-performance carbon clincher wheelset that pairs a 46mm profile Assault front wheel with a 66mm Strike rear.

The pros discovered a long time ago that mixing profiles allowed them to take advantage of the characteristics of each design and achieve a synergy that kicks their overall performance into overdrive. With the narrower, but still highly aerodynamic, Assault on the front, stability in cross winds is enhanced and weight is reduced. With the Strike wheel optimizing stiffness aft, power transfer is enhanced, resulting in an ideal combination of top-end speed, great acceleration, and control.

Both the Assault and Strike wheels feature Reynolds' patented carbon clincher rim technology for strength, stiffness and light weight. With the same rim profiles and performance characteristics that are remarkably similar to those of the Reynolds Forty Six/Sixty Six wheelset, the Assault/Strike combo employs a more affordable carbon layup that allows Reynolds to offer them at a more moderate price. But while they cost less, the typical recreational rider will be hard-pressed to notice a significant difference in of performance between these and the Forty Six/Sixty Six wheelset. We've been riding them since they were first introduced and honestly can't say enough good things about the way they ride.

The Assault/Strike carbon clincher wheelset is laced with 20 DT Revolution spokes front and 20 DT Revolution/DT Comp spokes rear. They're laced radial front; 2X/radial rear and roll on super-smooth Reynolds Racing straight-pull hubs. The wheelset comes with Reynolds Cryo Blue brake pads, lightweight quick release skewers, and rim strips.

These wheels are eligible for the Reynolds Assurance Program.
