SRAM Force 22 11-Speed Rear Derailleur
When SRAM Force was introduced, it was the company's first foray into the world of road bike components. It introduced their innovative Double Tap system and other new technologies that turned SRAM from an interesting side-note to a full on Pro Peloton-level competitor. SRAM Force has continued to be a bench-mark in SRAM's product line, offering pro-level performance, even when compared to the top-end Red 22 group. Now they've taken it a step further with SRAM 22. The new 11-speed line from SRAM gives you an extra gear (usually the 15T cog on most cassettes) so you have a wider range of gears to choose from, making it easier to climb, fly over rollers, and upshift more smoothly when you're ramping up for a sprint.
The crown jewel of any groupset is the rear derailleur, and the SRAM Force 22 11-speed Mid Cage Rear Derailleur doesn't disappoint. This derailleur has been completely redesigned for 2013 with stunning new graphics and all new guts that take performance to the next level.
The SRAM Force 22 rear derailleur retains the fabled Exact Actuation technology, it's been upgraded to handle the larger shifts required for 11-speed shifting. That means that for every centimeter you move the shift lever, the cable moves the same amount. While it was great with 10-speed, it's fantastic with 11-speed. This results in more accurate and smoother shifting.
There's also a host of small but significant upgrades scattered all over this RD. The chain pulley cage has been redesigned for more precise chain movement management, resulting in less chain wobble, and the spring-fixed barrel adjust has been upgraded to make adjustments easier.
The SRAM Force 22 rear derailleur is one of those rare products that feels more revolutionary than evolutionary. Now the latest and greatest technology is available for every day cyclists who appreciate a good value as much as pro-level performance.
