Zipp 202 Firecrest Carbon Clincher V2 Road Disc Wheel - Rear
The 202 Firecrest rim shape is one of the lightest, best handling, stiffest climbing wheels on the market. The Zipp 202 Firecrest retains the classic 32mm rim depth of its predecessor and now has a wider 25.4mm max rim width, thanks to its Firecrest profile. The Firecrest rim shape improves stability by moving the wheel's center of pressure to sit almost directly over the steering axis, where wind-induced steering torque has a minimal effect. It produces similar to better aerodynamics than most 46-66mm V-section rims, especially in the crosswinds, and rolls faster and handles better than classic road wheels.
The 77/177D hubset brings a stiff, thru-axle compatible hubset than found on the previous generation of hubs, with wider flanges and a bigger axle. 6-bolt disc rotor compatibility means that the 202 is now no longer simply an ultralight climbing wheel, but with the improved modulation and all-weather stopping power of discs, the 202 becomes a fully functional adventure wheel that's ready for cyclocross, gravel, or simply exploring the road less traveled.
To live up to the demands of gravel and adventure road riding, the 202 Firecrest Carbon Clincher Disc-brake wheelset also is laced using Sapim brass nipples for increased stiffness and durability in all conditions.
