Designed to go the distance, the Louis Garneau Gennix E1 Elite road bike delivers up plenty of comfort and performance. Thanks to its full carbon fiber RTCC1 monocoque carbon fiber frame, smart component choices, and endurance-oriented geometry, the Gennix E1 is perfect for gran fondo riders, those who love to ride distances, or riders who need a little less bar to saddle drop than what's offered on most race bikes.
The stiff and lightweight Gennix E1 frame feature a full monocoque void-less construction that keeps the weight low while ensuring exceptional rigidity and durability--since the bike can be made just as stiff, but with less material. The downtube and seattube have been shaped for improved aerodynamics, while the seatstays remain pencil thin for improved compliance and comfort, and the beefy chainstays keep frame flex to a minimum. The full carbon fiber tapered headtube and BB86 bottom bracket help keep things extra stiff where it counts. The frame and fork clear up to 28mm tires for added comfort and traction--excellent for the new breed of gran fondo routes that like to throw a bit of gravel into the mix. A full carbon fork with tapered steerer features aerodynamically shaped legs that cut through the wind for a little bit of extra efficiency. Endurance geometry gives you a slightly taller headtube and sloped top tube to take some pressure off the back and give you a more upright position, perfect for long days in the saddle.
Not only do you get a great frameset with the Gennix, but the component spec is on point as well. Shimano's workman Ultegra group is one of the best sellers and most popular in the world, and with good reason. Ultegra 6800 delivers all of the pro-level performance of Dura-Ace, but at a much better value. You gain a few grams, but still get the wide linkage rear derailleur, long lever-arm front derailleur that deliver smooth and powerful shifting, plus the 4-arm crank that can take everything from a TT-ready 55-46 to a 46/34 chainring combo on a single spider with no loss in stiffness or performance. To save you a few bucks, Garneau spec'ed a 105 cassette and brakes, offering up the same performance and a few extra grams, but at a great value. Shimano also supplies the rolling stock, with their excellent RS010 wheels that provide plenty of comfort and performance benefits. The wheels are wrapped up in the very popular Vittoria Rubino Pro Slick 25mm tires, which roll smooth, fast, and enhance rider comfort.
