Comments about ROCKSHOX 2010 Rock Shox Tora SL SE Suspension Fork:

Put this on an old Stumpjumper hardtail as an upgrade from a Piece Of Dung elastomer Manitou that came with the bike.

Having not had an Air/Oil shock since the days of the Mag21 I am pretty impressed with this fork.

Bottomed out a few times using the recommended pressure chart, I would run about 10psi higher than what it calls for (also assuming you are carrying about 10 pounds worth of pack and water, so It may actually be just right). Rebound dampening works great and will go from a pogo stick to a nice controlled rebound.

Has disk mounts and V-Brake mounts which is a plus.

Comments about ROCKSHOX 2010 Rock Shox Tora SL SE Suspension Fork:

Upgraded an older Gary Fisher F2 Full Suspension Judy SL front fork, 80MM travel (Oil). This one is 100MM travel (air). It ended up changing the dimensions on the bike but in my favor. Pushing the front end up 20MM. Keep that in mind if upgrading. 20MM difference upfront. I ride in Winter Park Co, lots of varied terrain. Shock is performing well so far. Air is a bit different feel from Spring/oil but no complaints.
Note: I am a Rec rider, sometimes hammering the bike other times cruising. In all cases the new fork is a huge upgrade from 5-7 yr old technology.
Occasionally check the air pressure and adjust accordingly. If you're looking for a VG Xcountry fork this one is priced right and performs well so far after 100 single track miles.
4 stars for now. Will adjust as I get more miles on it.

Comments about ROCKSHOX 2010 Rock Shox Tora SL SE Suspension Fork:

Just upgraded from a 01 Marzocchi Z-5 Air. Hard to find a lightweight fork that is setup for v-brakes. This shock has it all if your an old school rider that uses parts until they break. A long time coming upgrade, what a huge difference. A gremlin to a 911 in about 15 minutes( installation time) Totally worth the bones.

Comments about ROCKSHOX 2010 Rock Shox Tora SL SE Suspension Fork:

Granted I upgraded from a Spinner Grind OS so anything would seem awesome, but I love this fork. To me, its off the chain. Its light, strong, and I can adjust the PSI for my weight (220 lbs riding weight) and it handles the extra poundage just fine. The lockout is strong too, but I don't use that feature as much as I thought-only when climbing on asphalt and that happens very rarely.

Upgraded from a Rock Shox Judy to this Tora. Best suspension for the price. Easy to install. Quality construction. Paired this with a Cane Creek S-3 headset. Smooth operation. Nothing beats air suspension.

Comments about ROCKSHOX 2010 Rock Shox Tora SL SE Suspension Fork:

I just installed these on my Trek 8000. They were an upgrade from my Manatou shocks which had been on it for 9 years. If all you are looking for is an upgrade and want a good comfortable ride that is inexpensive, then these are the shocks for you. If you are looking for higher end performance with larger travel then these are not them. I took them out and hit the trails and had no problems absorbing the impacts. I am a pretty agressive rider and the shocks kept up the entire time.
