About the dreambikes Program
A lot of companies have demo fleets, but crankbrothers wanted to take their demo fleet and accomplish something amazing. Inspired by Hans Rey and his determination to give back to the sport that has done so much for him, crankbrothers created the dreambikes program.
Dreambikes started as a way to display the new line of handlebars, seatposts, stems, grips, wheelsets, and eggbeater and candy pedals that crankbrothers released this year. These products have been created with one design language to create a fresh, new visual paradigm for the mountain bike. These products coupled with an amazing frame and other beautiful components would result in a bike that any of us would create in our dreams – the best components, coordinating colors, impeccable quality.
To perfectly capture the essence of this new visual paradigm, crankbrothers partnered with frame builders of distinction including Ibis, Titus, Intense, GT, Focus and Tomac, as well as with a small group of partners - SRAM, Rock Shox, Avid, Fizik and Continental Tires. With the combination of these spectacular brands, the dreambikes become true works of art. These bikes will be a rolling museum on top of the crankbrothers technical vehicle that will travel to events all over the western states of the U.S., in addition to locations throughout Europe.
That was enough though. Crankbrothers knew that the dreambikes could be so much more than just a beautiful bike.
Crankbrothers has been proud to be a part of Hans Rey's charity, Wheels4Life, for the past several years. Hans and his wife Carmen have worked tirelessly to raise money to purchase bicycles for people less fortunate than us who desperately could use a bike for work, to receive health care, or to ride to school. In the past 3 years, they have purchased and given away 2,000 bikes to people who are overcome with emotions when they receive a bicycle from them. For these people, the gift of a bicycle truly does change their lives.
Partnering with Performance Bike, crankbrothers will raffle off each dreambike and donate all of the proceeds to Wheels4Life, with the goal of raising as much as $50,000. That's enough money to buy 500 bicycles and help Hans and Carmen positively impact the lives of 500 wonderful human beings.
Now, that really is a dreambike.
