The Great Ride Series - Beginner
You’re invited to join our beginner level Saturday morning group ride, starting and ending at Performance Bicycle. The ride is for beginners, those getting back in the saddle, or riders who want to add some variety to their cycling. The ride will last approximately one hour, and will go at an average pace of between 12 and 15 miles per hour. We’ll explore some of the local bike paths and some residential routes, as well. The ride will take place every Saturday morning at 9:00am and is a “No Rider Left Behind” ride. Come out and join us for this fun, non-competitive ride. We can’t wait to see you there.

No Drop Group Road Rides
Every Saturday at 8:00 am
Beginner Ride: 25-30 miles at 12-15 mph pace.
Intermediate to Advanced Ride: 40-45 miles at 16-20 mph pace.
Both rides begin and end at the shop.

Routes / Trails

Barton Creek Greenbelt
Description: There is a drop-in only one-quarter mile from the store. The Greenbelt is one of the best mountain biking trails in Austin. It is often called the "crown jewel of Austin" because it's such an amazing trail that conveniently sits right in the middle of town. It has several different trails with a variety of challenges with the main trail stretching about seven miles.
Difficulty: All levels.
Location: The Barton Creek Greenbelt begins at Zilker Park and ends at the Lost Creek Subdivision, at a place nicknamed the "Hill of Life." But again there is a drop-in point a quarter mile from the store.

Walnut Creek Park
Descrption: This is a great place for beginners because it's mostly smooth but it does have some obstacles to make it interesting. This trail is a loop that's almost 12 miles long and it's heavily traveled so there should always be someone around if you run into trouble. There are a few areas where you need to cross a creek but sometimes these are dry.
Difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate
Location: 12138 N. Lamar Blvd, 78753

Spin Doctor Mechanic
Crawford is from Dublin, Ireland. He has been a professional mechanic since 2007 both here and abroad. Commuting to work by bicycle gives him a unique perspective of riding which he shares with his collegues and customers. As a sculptor and jeweler he appreciates both the form and function of bicycles. Bicycles are not just tools but pieces of functional art. When not riding he spends time with his wife and their cat.
