Meet the Manager
Store Manager John hails from San Diego. He’s been riding bikes for more than 20 years and has worked at Performance since 2002. His favorite type of riding includes both mountain and road, and he has raced BMX as well as downhill. John’s favorite places to ride are Anderson Truck trail and Noble Canyon in San Diego. In addition to cycling, John’s hobbies also include paintball.

Description: Competitive group ride every Sunday morning
Difficulty: Advanced
Location: Tustin Market Place at Jamboree Road and Camino Real intersection

Crystal Cove State Park - MTB
Description: Great ocean views
Difficulty: Intermediate
Location: Off Pacific Coast Highway between Corona del Mar and Laguna Beach

Food Park - Road
Description: Saturday morning competitive group ride that’s a good test of ability
Difficulty: Advanced
Location: Corner of Main and Harvard in the city of Irvine

Fullerton Loop – MTB
Description: Nice rolling singletrack that makes you feel fast even if you are out of shape
Difficulty: Beginner
Location: Starts at the Fullerton courthouse off Berkley St

Whiting Ranch - MTB
Description: Scenic, great singletrack, good work out under 1 hour
Difficulty: Intermediate
Location: Portola Parkway/Ralph’s parking lot

Spin Doctor Mechanic
Spin Doctor Thad is a San Diego native who has been wrenching on bikes for more than 20 years, with more than 15 of those years spent working for Performance. He enjoys helping new cyclists develop a passion for cycling that matches his own. Racing cyclocross is his favorite type of riding, and when he’s not racing or working on bikes, Thad enjoys fly fishing.
