E*Thirteen TRS Plus 12-Speed Upgrade Kit w/ Tools (9-46T Cassette)
I was excited to find this 12 sp upgrade kit. Seemed a no-brainer. Very ingenious way to easily add 10% at each end of what had been my SRAM XX1.
But it wasn't until the kit came that I found out that I'd have to use shims the weren't in the kit (contacted e*Thirteen and waited a week for the no-cost shims to arrive). After having modified both the rear derailleur & shifter, I carefully used the shims in every possible combination. PINA. No matter what I did I wasn't able to get rid of the cassette wobbling (which causes the chain to semi engage the bigger cog right next to it. I blame the whole pinch-bolt clamping method of holding the two piece cassette to the freehub.
I have a friend that ordered and used the exact same kit to upgrade his and his is still working perfectly (his wheel has a Stans Neo hub)
If you Have a Hope hub, you 'might' want to pass.
I ended up sending this kit back for a refund. I then bought a Sram GX Eagle shifter, Rear Derailleur & Cassette (over $300) and am happy with what was a Far easier and much better solution for me.
