The Giro Cinder MIPS Helmet provides all the features an avid road rider wants in a lightweight package. The design is inspired by the classic aesthetic of Giro's premium Synthe helmet, offering similar performance and style. Key features include the Roc Loc 5 fit system, which allows you to easily dial-in both fit tension and adjust vertical position with a single hand. Air-FX padding offers comfort on your longest rides, and the helmet is equipped with MIPS to redirect impact energy, providing more protection in certain impacts.

  • Compact shape Air-Fix padding
  • Ponytail compatible
  • MIPS equipped

All Giro helmets are designed to reduce as much energy as possible while meeting and exceeding stringent safety standards. The goal of Giro’s MIPS-equipped helmets is to reduce rotational forces. Giro believes that helmets equipped with this technology can reduce the amount of rotational force that may be transferred to a rider’s brain in certain impacts. Learn more about MIPS in the video above.

The industry benchmark in comfort, stability, adjustability, and weight savings. In addition to enhancing the fit and comfort of helmets, Roc Loc 5 allows you to easily custom tune the fit tension and the fore-aft tilt of the helmet in seconds using a single hand. And it’s lighter than comparable systems too, making it the ultimate in skull-hugging luxury.

In-Mold Construction fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with the helmet's impact-absorbing foam liner. The fusion process allows for better ventilation systems, making in-mold helmets lighter and cooler than traditional helmets.

Giro Cinder MIPS Road Bike Helmet (Matte White) (M)
Love this helmet. I am upgrading from a Lazer Blade, and this model definitely feel lighter and more comfortable, mainly due to the adjustment knob in the back. Could be that the shape of my head just fits on a Giro helmet better, but in any case, will be keeping the Lazer for everyday rides and the Giro for longer ones. The strap adjustment also feels better on the Giro. Highly recommended.

Giro Cinder MIPS Road Bike Helmet (Matte White) (L)
The helmet seems too large for my head, but looks very effective in protecting me - plenty of padding. I like the pattern of the vents and it fits very well.

Helmet Measurements:

  • Wrap a measuring tape around your head
  • Make sure that tape is level from front to back
  • Note measurement and reference Size Chart
Circumference (cm)
S52 - 55.5cm
M55.5 - 59cm
L59 - 62.5cm
XL62.5 - 65cm

Note: Make sure the helmet fits with a little room when the fit system is loose, and sits low enough to protect your forehead without hindering your vision. Once you've got the right size, you can adjust the fit.

How to Adjust Fit:

  1. Adjust the fit system at the rear of the helmet for a snug, secure fit. Some helmets also include a vertical tuning feature that allows you to adjust the fore/aft tilt, for optimal positioning on your head.
  2. Adjust the straps so that they sit just below the earlobes.
  3. Adjust the buckle so that it rests against the back of the jaw/throat.
  4. Adjust the interior pads if needed.
  5. Check the fit to make sure helmet is comfortable and secure. It should not roll forward or back, or be able to slide off.

Note: All measurements are provided by the manufacturer and may vary depending on how measurements are acquired.
