Made in Asheville, NC, Torch Classic Mountain hubs feature easy axle standard conversion, low weight, large diameter disc flanges for braking torque transfer. Ideal for any style of mountain bike riding, from XC to DH. The moment you see these hubs in person, it's easy to tell why i9 is known to make one of the best-looking hubs on the market. Large diameter disk flanges are angled to lower spoke stress, improve wheel stiffness, and braking torque transfer. The Torch utilizes a contact seal packed with marine grease just outside of the bearings to keep grime out of the cartridge bearing. This makes for less maintenance and serves to extend the life of the bearings.
Industry Nine components are manufactured in the USA, start to finish. Everything. Through the layers of CNC machine processes, even if parts are separately machined and scrutinized by quality control. Hubs are individually polished and/or anodized, and laser-etched in-house. The production warehouse shelves are constantly moving with outgoing orders and incoming fresh parts from the machine shop. Industry nine has all of the technology they need to create their in-house project. For example, there's a wire EDM Machine, which cuts hardened steel by using an electrical current. The wire EDM machine maximizes the strength and accuracy used to cut teeth and pawls. Industry Nine really goes the whole nine yards with their components.
