I have been riding, training and racing since 1977. I wear M tops and bottoms. I have used Castelli, Asso, Giordana, Pearl Izumi, and Nashbar. I have used other Louis Garneru shorts. The carbon 2 have been the best fit of all. They are comfortable on long rides, 40-100mi, I
race and do weekend warrior group rides and I have never had a tender peri area after any ride. These have been worth the money.
Customer Service by Performance was perfect. The product is exactly what I wanted, fit was just as I expected based upon the size chart and honest measurements. I thought I would miss having noticeable "grippers" at leg openings for shorts, but these do not ride up at all. They are my new favorite. So I quickly bought one more pair before the discontinue them!
Great service and got my bibs fast, They fit perfect, I will continue to be a customer, Thanks
Sizing is off. Smaller than other LG bibs in the past.
LG is always a quality product. The waffle fabric is really nice. Negatives are not a comfortable fit unless your are very low body fat. Like almost all bibs the shoulder straps bunch up and are uncomfortable. To be fair to LG all manufacturers I have tried usually make these mistakes. Wish Nashbar still had their own line. It was some of the most comfortable I have had and still have some so it lasted good too.
This review is about Performance Bicycle and not the bibs I ordered. After I ordered the bibs it took 2 months to arrive. I ordered a size Medium as I have other LG bibs in that size that fit well. When I received the bibs they were too small for me. The return policy is you pay for the return shipping and then order another product if you wish. When I looked at the same product in a larger size the price was $40 more. Further, I returned the bibs and am waiting for a credit 6 days after shipping.
I don't do many returns from anyone, but the experience with Performance is completely different from Amazon where I get a credit the next day from shipping. That may be an unfair comparison, but they are competitors, and the service experience is completely different. I have been a customer of Performance and Nashbar for many years, but they seem to be the same company and the value equation has degraded over time. Looks like Amazon wins again on service.
Fantastic shorts. Comfortable on longer rides. Retain minimal moisture during those warmer rides. I typically bounce between medium and large and am glad I opted for the large.
Elasticity in pants/bibs is poor, fit well, but lacked the compression desired.
Unfortunately, what I thought would fit, XL, did not so I'll have to lose weight or give this one to a friend. Service and delivery was great. Purchase was very easy.
Thank you,
Tom
I am training for my first century, and I decided to invest in a better bib. The investment was well worth it.
Very nice shorts but too small. I normally we at XL but thought I'd try L. I may order the XL in the future.
I decided to spend the extra money for these, just to see if they were worth it, since I normally buy the less expensive shorts. I am 6'1", 165 lbs, with long legs and short torso. I normally wear mediums, but bought the small.
I have worn them twice, on 45 mile rides. They fit really snug, and I love them. They are so comfortable, that I don't even need chamois creme.
Once again, the old saying, "You get what you pay for," has proven to be true.
