This is the Maxxis Ardent 27.5 x 2.25 Folding Tire, in Single Compound. The Ardent is a workhorse, that is trusted by XC racers and trail riders alike. The aggressive tread pattern and high-volume casing delivers great traction in a plethora of conditions. Large, widely spaced block-style side knobs offer multiple edges for traction in the corners, while the ramped center tread minimizes rolling resistance and maximizes accelerating traction. While Maxxis recommends this tire for loose to medium soil conditions (wet or dry), the Ardent is a proven performer on hardpack as well, and is an excellent choice as a rear tire.
