Pearl Izumi Men's Elite Gel Gloves (Screaming Yellow) (XL)

These gloves are functional and true to the sizing chart.

Crummy design and build.

I’ve owned more than a dozen Pearl biking gloves and these ones are wholly disappointing, unlike all the others.

The pads are perhaps half as thick as my other pairs and not very spongey. The pads are also smaller in area than earlier versions. As a result, there is no padding at all where the base of the thumb/web contacts the handlebars. Instead there is a prominent seam.

My wife and I took a quick 20 mile ride on our tandem the first time I wore these gloves. I returned with a blister near the web of my hand, something that hasn’t happened in decades of bike riding.

If you do decide to buy these anyway, remember Pearl gloves run small. I bought XL despite wearing L from everyone else. They fit fine, they are just miserable gloves.

They appear to be okay gloves, but they do not have a lot of padding for the price. Also, I measured my hand according to the instructions and ordered a "large". The gloves that arrived were tight, especially around the fingers, and felt like they were one size too small. - I'd recommend ordering one size larger than their chart would indicate.
