Engineered to be the benchmark lightweight trail short, this liner-free version of the Pearl Izumi Summit Short will earn its place among your favorite gear. The non-elastic waistband provides a minimalist feel and holds these shorts comfortably in place, while external hook-and-loop straps let you dial in the fit on the fly. New Trail Access side pockets are angled backward, instead of down the front of the thigh, to shift contents comfortably out of the way while pedaling and allow easy accessibility while riding. Pearl Izumi has even bonded and angled the leg openings to prevent snagging on knee pads and to keep the shorts off your calves. The durable water repellent coating sheds trail spray and keeps these shorts looking fresh ride after ride. Add a liner short of your choice to complete the package.

Pearl Izumi Summit Shell Short (Loam) (28)
I bought size 32 even though my waist at the hip bones is 33. These are very tight on me so I'll be getting next size up. My buttocks measures 38 max and size 32 was very tight there. Pocket liners are a mesh material, they don't look super sturdy but mesh will be cooler. Otherwise they look well built.

Measurement Guide:

  1. Chest- Measure circumference around fullest part, across bust points, keeping the tape horizontal
  2. Waist- Measure circumference around the narrowest part (typically the small of the back where the body bends to the side), keeping tape horizontal
  3. Hips- Measure circumference around fullest part of hips keeping the tape measure horizontal
  4. Inseam- Inseam refers to the length of the garment, from the crotch seam to the hem

Measurement Guide Notes:

  • Use the chart to determine size
  • If measurements are between two sizes, sizing down will provide a tighter fit while sizing up will provide a looser fit
  • If the measurements for the chest and waist correspond to two different suggested sizes, choose the size indicated by the chest measurement
  • If measurements for hips and waist correspond to two different suggested sizes, choose the size indicated by the hip measurement
