Shimano SH-AM902 Mountain Bike Shoe (Black) (44)
I purchased these new 2020 AM9 shoes in size 45 (same size as my 2019 AM9 shoes) and found them to be too big (I'm a US 10.5 across most brands of shoes).

I tried the 44 and they fit perfectly. Go figure.

The 2020 AM9 still have the perfect amount of stiffness for trail/enduro riding, just like the 2019 AM9 did. This is my main attraction to them.

One difference I found between these and the 2019 model is that they made the tread pattern of the sole more aggressive, and they lengthened the cleat channel. Both of these changes are welcome, though they were quite good on the 2019 version to begin with.

Shimano also put a lot of work towards making the 2020 version more water resistant; the cleat channel is now sealed internally from the factory. On the 2019 version you had to use a provided sticker to cover them from the inside. Shimano also re-designed the the lace cover to overlap the strap so water won't shoot through the gap like on the 2019.

Ventilation has remained roughly the same, which is to say good.

Lastly, the toe box is no longer rounded like it was on the 2019, but rather more angular and pointed, which results in a less bulky feeling shoe. This is a welcome change.

My 2019 AM9 size 45 shoes (with cleat installed) weigh 952g. My new 2020 AM9 size 44 shoes (with cleats installed) weigh 973g. I wish they had been able to keep the weight the same or improved it slightly. I hope that the AM9 doesn't keep getting heavier over the years.

Overall these are still the best trail/enduro shoes I've tried.
