As a general rule cranks are cranks. As long as they come in the correct length and spacing it's a primarily matter of aesthetics - and to a lesser degree, weight. I'm not really a fan of carbon cranks for mtb use because I tend to bash them into rocks, and adding little rubber boots to the ends is dumb. eeWings would be sick but I can't justify that kind of an outlay when these bad boys will accomplish the same functionality for 1/10th the price. They come in a reasonable variety of lengths, 3 offsets, and get the job done. For ~$100 you can't go wrong.
