Fuji capitalizes on two of the hottest trends in mountain biking with the new Fuji Beartooth 27.5+. 27.5 wheels offer a combination of rollover power and agility that combine the best of 29 and 26 wheels, while the plus-size tires increase the tire's contact patch and provide a little extra cushion.
The Beartooth is built around Fuji's A2-SL custom-butted alloy frame, an efficient aluminum design that combines durability and performance into an affordable package. With an oversized seat tube and Fuji's patented PowerCurve down tube, this frame is definitely ready to take take some abuse on the trail. S-bend chainstays soften the ride, and a replaceable derailleur hanger comes in handy when things go sideways. Along with the inherent cushion of the oversized tires, a SR Suntour SF16-Raidon 32-LO-R 27.5+ with hydraulic lockout helps soak up the big hits.
The Beartooth's groupset consists of a mix of Shimano Deore and Deore XT parts, offering a clever balance between performance and affordability. Shimano's M-627-B Hollowtech II crankset provides a light, stiff platform, and, with 36/22 chainrings, offers a range of gears to help you crest the steepest climbs. The Deore XT Shadow rear derailleur offers reliable, efficient shifting across 10 speeds in the back, and Shimano's M365 hydraulic disc brakes give riders excellent stopping power and modulation in all conditions.
The Beartooth is finished with Oval Concepts stem, saddle, seatpost, and handlebar, all of which balance weight savings with the kind of durability mountain biking demands. When all is said and done, this is a fun bike. Whether you're looking to get into mountain biking for the first time or looking to add a gnarly arrow to your quiver of mountain bikes, the Fuji Beartooth is ready to roll over whatever unlucky obstacle you put in front of it.
