The 2016 Kestrel RT-1000 flat bar road bike marries incredible aerodynamic design and high performance components with ergonomic grips, a slightly wider width Prologo saddle, and an Oval Concepts flat handlebar to deliver less body fatigue and more fun. The Kestrel RT-1000 105 flat bar road bike features a full carbon frame and fork, Shimano 105 11-speed components, and Oval Concepts 327 wheels.

A close cousin to the Kestrel Legend, but with more relaxed geometry, the RT-1000 boasts Kestrel's aerodynamic DNA and is, therefore, plenty fast; yet offers greater comfort over longer distances. The geometry features a taller head tube that puts the rider in a more upright position to ease back fatigue, a longer wheelbase that increases stability, and a slightly sloping top tube that allows the rider to mount and dismount more easily. The RT-1000 is constructed of Kestrel's Enhanced Modulus Hybrid (EMH) carbon; a combination of 800K and 700K carbon fibers. It's lightweight and stiff, yet also designed to offer a bit more compliance. A tapered head tube enhances lateral stiffness for excellent steering precision.

Shimano 105 11-speed derailleurs and cassette, along with Shimano RS700 flat bar shifters, bring efficient, precision gear changes to the RT-1000. The Oval Concepts 520 crankset sports compact, 50/34T chainrings that are combined with an 11-32T cassette to shrink down even the toughest hills. Oval Concepts 327 wheels and Vittoria Zaffiro Pro 25c wide tires deliver dependable performance and grip. A set of Tektro dual pivot brakes supply dependable braking performance and an Oval Concepts flat bar provides added comfort as you enjoy a more upright position.
