Update
We are truly in a golden age of mountain biking when an invention like the burly fat bike gets made over with carbon and an 11-speed drivetrain. Thus, this is the case with the Borealis Echo GX fat bike. The Echo's 1370 gram carbon frame is draped in Race Face, Ergon and SRAM parts to deliver an unbelievable trail experience, regardless of the terrain under its massive, beastly paw print.

One of things we love about an up and coming brand is discovering their unique take on bike design. The Borealis brand, which first made eyes pop-out with their carbon soaked, sub 22-pound Yampa model at the 2013 Interbike in Las Vegas, is the brain child of Steve Kacznmarek. Steve says, "Our goal is to produce the lightest, most technically advanced fat bike products while offering our customers the best service." A bold statement, but Borealis has the high-quality goods and experience to back that up. Steve has a background in competitive sailing and he leveraged his knowledge of carbon, aerodynamics and balance to create some of the most advanced and technically capable fat bikes on the market.

The Echo GX is named after the Dinosaur National Monument in Colorado. While both Colorado and monuments are cool, dinosaurs are far cooler, and the name is apt for a bike that's all teeth and power like a T-Rex. An unshakeable carbon rigid fork and Cane Creek 40 headset supplies plenty of front end vibration absorption and control. Massive Turnagain RS80 hand-built rims and Borealis hubs are equipped with 4-inch wide Husker Du tires. Further adding to the comfort and control are a Race Face Evolve stem, handlebar, seatpost and 30-tooth Affect crank. SRAM DB5 Centerline disc brakes slow you and hold you whenever put on task and the impressive and innovative SRAM GX 11-speed drivetrain delivers flawless and timely shifts.

Finally, you'll appreciate the attention to detail. A set of Lizard Skins 494 grips and an Ergon SME30 Evo saddle provide a comfortable platform for your hands and rear end.

Each Borealis bike is custom built to spec after your order is placed. As a result, time to shipment may vary.
