Designed with 4x world mountain champion, Brian Lopes, the Pearl Izumi X-PROJECT 1.0 gives serious mountain bikers and cyclocross riders their first high-performance MTB shoe that hikes and runs a bike, as well as it pedals one. It's been updated for 2015 with the Bi-directional Closure for even pressure distribution across the foot and the micro-adjustable BOA reel for a precision fit. Full-length, tapered carbon plate integrates stiffness with flexibility, so it feels like an extremely lightweight, fully efficient race shoe on the bike, and an all-day comfort shoe off the bike. Rubber is bonded to the lugs in the super-light TPU sole and provides better traction than hard plastic lugs found on other shoes. New seamless upper is extremely thin and gives a second skin fit for superior comfort, breathability and aerodynamics. EVA foam heel soaks up the rough stuff when hiking, running or rolling over uneven terrain.
- Co-molded rubber tips on hollow TPU lugs provide traction on an extremely lightweight bottom unit
- Full-length, tapered unidirectional carbon fiber plate gives on-the bike power transfer and off-the-bike hike-ability
- Seamless, 0.9mm Second Skin Upper:
- Thinnest upper on the market
- Comfortably adapts to foot's unique shape
- Eliminates hot spots
- Superior breathability
- Power Web is a non-stretch web that easily conforms to your foot, but keeps you bolted to the pedal for maximum efficiency under hard efforts
- Run shoe EVA foam heel absorbs impact for off-the-bike comfort
- Seamless construction in the toe area for no-seam comfort in the flex zone
- Bi-directional Closure delivers a semi-custom fit, by gathering equally from both sides for even foot retention, with the precision of a micro-adjustable BOA reel
- Includes 1:1 Insole System with Total Tune Performance Inserts
