Soma Stem Riser (Black) (1" Threaded to 1-1/8" Threadless)
This Soma stem riser is exactly what I needed it to be. At age 70, I can no longer reach the drops on my 1986 Cannondale. This riser took the place of my old quill stem. I replaced the handlebars with a modern handlebar from my parts bin, and added a short modern stem. I am using every bit of elevation that the Soma stem allows. The stem riser is a reasonable match for the black paint job on the bike's frame. It holds the handlebar firmly and solidly. The bike handled well on its inaugural 3-hour ride. The bike has always been a bit of a bone-shaker, but this stem riser provided a little insulation from road vibrations. All in all it's a good value for the money and a good purchase. The reason I am back at the Performance Bicycle website (and thanks for quick delivery) is that I need another such stem riser for my other 1980's bike.
