Tight enough tread spacing for high speed, drag-free onslaughts yet blocky and tall enough to really dig in when it comes time to slam on the brakes. A rounded profile and staggered, supported side knobs keep clamoring for traction even as the trail loses its camber. Want to go out and own it? Be the Trail Boss.

With WTB's Dual DNA rubber compound this is the tire to ride when you are giving it your all. Dual DNA is the perfect mix of efficiency, traction and durability. The centerline tread features a firmer rubber compound that boasts faster rolling and increased durability, while the side knobs are composed of softer, slower-rebounding rubber that improves control and grip.

  • Fast Rolling: Long-wearing rubber designed for low rolling resistance and durability
  • TCS: Tubeless Compatible System combines the ride benefits of a tubeless tire with the minimal weight of a race tire
  • Light Casing: A supple, gram-conscious carcass designed to be compliant and conform to trail objects while still providing a happy balance of low rotational weight and rugged reliability

WTB Trail Boss Dual DNA TCS Tubeless Tire (Black) (27.5") (2.25")
Its not the lightest rear tire, and was a little heavier than WTB's specs, but has a great balance of speed and grip on hardpack/loose over hardpack/rocky trails. Paired it with a TCS Light/Fast Vigilante front tire and so far Im really happy with the combo. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a fast, all mountain/techy trail tire combo that pedals well.
