Yakima Backswing 2" Swing Away Adapter
Not as compatible as you would think. Even though it's marketed as for "most 2-in. hitch bike racks," the approved list is actually quite limited -- even within Yakima's roster of racks. I bought it with the intention of installing a Yakima BackRoad 4 onto it. Yakima customer support never got back to me before I ordered the SwingAway from Performance Bicycle, but before I installed it I called Yakima customer service to expedite my support ticket. After a whole back and forth of "will it work, won't it work?" it was ultimately confirmed that it does NOT work with the BackRoad 4, for reasons about how the BackRoad 4 didn't pass the weight test with it.
So I returned the BackSwing to Performance Bicycle. I only opened the box to slip in a sheet with the RMA number on it (as instructed by the Performance Bicycle service rep on live chat).
To my dismay, it cost me a whopping $109(!) to ship the unused return via USPS, since Performance Bicycle has no deal with UPS or another carrier for returns. Meaning, I spent that money for something I never used. I will probably not buy from Performance Bicycle again.
