I have used many popular chain lubes, the names I won't mention. Boeshield was recommended to me from a Bike shop located in Rockwood, Pa along the Great Allegheny Passage trail after I broke a chain and the man kindly replaced it on the spot and recommended BOESHIELD! I used to burn through chains twice a year on my bikes. (2013 Trek DS 8.5). I use the Boeshield STRICTLY in accordance with the instructions on the bottle and so far I have NEVER replaced the chain on the 2013 bike! I use it on my road bike and mountain bike also! I bike along the C&O Canal Towpath and even with all the stone dust and dirt the chains last. This lube is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST I've ever used! I biked about 2000 miles last year and have my chains checked for stretch at a reputable bike shop each spring!
