Hiplok Z-Lock Wearable Lock (2-Pack) (Red)
These are lightweight and surprisingly tough. I lost a key and needed to remove one, so I tried a big pair of wire cutters: Fail. I tried a bolt cutter: Fail. I used a Dremel with a cutting wheel: Success in a few seconds. I think a better bolt cutter probably would have worked; mine isn't so good on small pieces of metal. Thin bits of plastic keep the strap from coming out, so you might think a good yank would rip this apart, but I've tried that, and it won't. These things are tough. I wouldn't use one and think a prepared bike thief would be thwarted, but most bike thefts are opportunistic, and these are indispensable for tossing in a jersey pocket for a cafe stop.
