Campy cables never stretch. Once you tune it up, it is good for a season. Only issue is rear cable only lasts one year for me, actually less. Tend to fray or break near the shifter and pain in the ass to get out old one. Had to remove shifter, take jockey wheel out. So replace every year or more if you do a lot of miles. Also I have used an off brand once and the metal ball at the end was not quite the right size.
