The Giro Syntax MIPS Helmet is known for its relentless performance and style. Syntax MIPS combines a touch of European flair with slightly deeper coverage and high-performance features, all tucked into a very slim design. The outer shell is molded from a tough polycarbonate that is fused permanently to the EPS foam liner using Giro's In-Mold construction process to enhance durability and ventilation without excess bulk. The fit is luxurious and secure, thanks to Giro's highly adjustable Roc Loc 5 Air MIPS system that allows you to customize fit/feel for great stability and long-range comfort. Another benefit is integrated MIPS which can provide an added measure of protection from rotational forces in the event of an angled impact.

  • Wind tunnel vents with internal channeling
  • Four-piece polycarbonate interlocking hardbody shell
  • Full hardbody wrap

Fit System: Roc Loc

Giro Syntax MIPS Road Helmet (Matte White/Silver) (XL)
I have always purchased Giro helmets and have never been disappointed. This is such an important piece of equipment that I want to buy from a company where designing/ building/ testing helmets is their primary focus, not a sideline product. The Syntax is stylish, sharp and well ventilated. The XL size is the largest size among competitors and is perfect for my giant head.

Giro Syntax MIPS Road Helmet (Matte White/Silver) (XL)
Comfy, light and well ventilated. One of the few nicer road helmets that actually comes in an XL for my huge head. Great value.

Giro Syntax MIPS Road Helmet (Matte White/Silver) (M)
I love my new Giro helmet. The adjustable sizing around the head is great! I had to go on the website to figure this part out, and at first, I thought it was a little snug! The sleek design also pleases me!

Giro Syntax MIPS Road Helmet (Matte White/Silver) (XL)
Best fitting helmet I have ever had. Pretty happy since I bought it blind on line. Fits better than helmets I tried on, and on in a store. Loving it

Giro Syntax MIPS Road Helmet (Matte White/Silver) (XL)
Very disappointed in the fact that I had to return the helmet for the incorrect size and had to pay $20 postage to USPS to return it when the shipping to me was free. Too bad Performance closed the location near me where I could have test fitted a helmet. Instead I was playing a guessing game with fit. I have sinced ordered a helmet from a competitor and tehy pay shipping both ways if there is a problem.

Helmet Measurements:

  • Wrap a measuring tape around your head
  • Make sure that tape is level from front to back
  • Note measurement and reference Size Chart
Circumference (cm)
S52 - 55.5cm
M55.5 - 59cm
L59 - 62.5cm
XL62.5 - 65cm

Note: Make sure the helmet fits with a little room when the fit system is loose, and sits low enough to protect your forehead without hindering your vision. Once you've got the right size, you can adjust the fit.

How to Adjust Fit:

  1. Adjust the fit system at the rear of the helmet for a snug, secure fit. Some helmets also include a vertical tuning feature that allows you to adjust the fore/aft tilt, for optimal positioning on your head.
  2. Adjust the straps so that they sit just below the earlobes.
  3. Adjust the buckle so that it rests against the back of the jaw/throat.
  4. Adjust the interior pads if needed.
  5. Check the fit to make sure helmet is comfortable and secure. It should not roll forward or back, or be able to slide off.

Note: All measurements are provided by the manufacturer and may vary depending on how measurements are acquired.
