Shimano Sora RD-R3000 Rear Derailleur (Black) (9 Speed) (Short Cage) (SS)
Converted an old 52 x 39 front chain ring road bike with 11-27 cassette and 9 speed Ultegra derailleur using this SORA RD-3000 GS (Medium Cage) and a swap to a 12-32 cassette. No need for a compact 50 x 34 Compact crankset expense. New chain, new derailleur and new cassette and now I can climb with a 39x32=32.57 gear inch. Almost as good as the 34x27=33.63 gear inch. Can always go back to the old setup as well. Try it, you will like it! (The short cage SORA will not work, you need the Medium cage).
