The Purist WaterGate Bottle features a silicon dioxide coating that's infused into the inner wall of the bottle. Essentially, this forms a glass-like finish that provides a totally natural taste and a solution to the problem of your drinks leaving behind any residual aftertaste. This infusion also protects fresh water from tasting like gross plastic on very hot days, making it akin to drinking straight from a sparkling clean glass. This bottle also has a WaterGate Cap, which has a self-sealing Heart Valve™ that delivers a high rate of flow with a leak-proof design, even when the valve is open.

Features:

  • Purist infusion shields the bottle from odor, stains, and mold to keep your water pure and your bottle clean
  • Simple hands-free open and close valve: Nothing to turn
  • 100% leak-proof top locks down for transport or mixing powdered drinks
  • Self-sealing Heart Valve™ delivers a high rate of flow with a 100% leak-proof design—even when the valve is open
  • Rubber over-molded on the outside of cap for easy, sure grip
  • Made from easy-to-squeeze LDPE material
  • Clear viewing strip makes it easy to see the bottle's contents
  • BPA-Free plastic is made from 100% FDA food-grade materials, and it's printed with non-solvent base (UV Cured), CPSC-approved ink and materials

Specialized Purist WaterGate Water Bottle (Translucent) (Grasslands) (22oz)
The other guy wasn't kidding. It's not that hard to squeeze but it's way too hard for a bike water bottle. Will end up squirting water way down your throat if you happen to be breathing. Then the bottle doesn't spring back so if you have to grab the bars, forget putting it back in the cage. I'm really surprised that Specialized, designed, developed, and marketed this. I mean maybe if you are cruising around and stop to drink, but I happen to race and find it just too complicated.

Specialized Purist WaterGate Water Bottle (Translucent) (Grasslands) (26oz)
Spout on this lid pulls out with difficulty and, even after fully extended, will not release fluid thru it without major, two-handed squeezing. Unfortunately, lids from my old bottles won't fit this bottle so this bottle is essentially useless. Would be nice to get a replacement, but only if the spout actually works.
